Across The Universe Launch Contest & Bookish Delights Side Contest

Author Beth Revis is hosting a launch contest in honor of her new book Across The Universe. I haven’t picked up a copy of the book yet but I’ve heard such good things about it and am very anxious to read it. Beth and her publisher are giving out tons of prizes so go here to enter by January 31st! I don’t care if you list me as the person that referred you, in fact, i’d rather you didn’t and had a chance at winning two contests. See below.

Once you’ve entered Beth’s contest you can also enter this contest over at Bookish Delights if you list her as the person who referred you to Beth’s contest. Confusing I know, but it’s not as complicated as it sounds, I promise! Head over to Bookish Delights. She will explain it to you better than I can 🙂

Blog Kick Off Giveaway @ The Reading Fever & Blog Announcement

Head over to The Reading Fever to enter her blog kick off giveaway. Further details at the link but hurry because it ends on the 31st!

Also: I am considering moving everything here over to BlogSpot. WordPress is driving me bonkers. Just a heads up 🙂

Not liking WordPress.

WordPress ate my header as well as my entire sidebar. Will have to make do with a temporary header for now until I feel like playing with Photoshop. Also, I think I recovered most of the contest graphics for my sidebar but if I said I’d link to your contest in my sidebar and it’s missing do let me know!

In My Mailbox (2)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. It gives book bloggers a chance to share with readers the books they’ve recently bought or received or borrowed.

Thanks to gift cards and Amazon’s prices I received six books in the mail this week. I have already started Magic Study and plan to move on to The Scorch Trials next. Lots of heroines faces on the covers in this batch and receiving them together made me realize that the covers of Magic Study and The Iron King are very similar. The Adoration of Jenna Fox is my favorite cover in this bunch (shiny :P) and XVI is my least favorite cover.

The Iron King

The Knife of Never Letting Go

Magic Study

The Scorch Trials

The Adoration of Jenna Fox

Also in my mailbox this week, though not book related, some new DVD’s and a case for my IPad 🙂

Good week!

Wither by Lauren DeStefano

What if you knew exactly when you would die?

Thanks to modern science, every human being has become a ticking genetic time bomb—males only live to age twenty-five, and females only live to age twenty. In this bleak landscape, young girls are kidnapped and forced into polygamous marriages to keep the population from dying out.

When sixteen-year-old Rhine Ellery is taken by the Gatherers to become a bride, she enters a world of wealth and privilege. Despite her husband Linden’s genuine love for her, and a tenuous trust among her sister wives, Rhine has one purpose: to escape—to find her twin brother and go home.

But Rhine has more to contend with than losing her freedom. Linden’s eccentric father is bent on finding an antidote to the genetic virus that is getting closer to taking his son, even if it means collecting corpses in order to test his experiments. With the help of Gabriel, a servant Rhine is growing dangerously attracted to, Rhine attempts to break free, in the limted time she has left.
